Last-Minute Gifts Made Easy - December 10, 2010 by Administrator

Big, crowded, mega malls tend to overwhelm me, especially when last-minute Christmas shoppers are there running a muck knocking down anything or anyone in their way to the checkout counter. (Let’s not even discuss parking spots!!) Holidays can be stressful enough, so I like to make my December shopping as zen as possible. Online shopping and a select few reliable stores are my secret recipe for avoiding the chaos. On my day out I don’t want to deal with 20 minute price-checks or disgruntled employees.

I completely appreciate that at Dimples I can be a “late in the game shopper” and still get high-quality, amazing gifts without having to leave my warm, cozy house…and even if I choose to leave it and venture out, I can rely on Cindy and Dayna to quickly put together an adorably wrapped gift that I know will be a hit!! That’s not always a luxury us last-minute spenders get.
So for my fellow good-intentioned, last minute shoppers (you know who you are) here are my Dimples picks for must-grab gifts!

Boogie Baby Hooded Towels- I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, these plush towels with minky details are perfect gifts because they can be used for a baby up to a 6-year-old and come in cool colors and patterns, like leopard and hot pink flower, so you can find one that reflects the child’s interests or even match their room decor.

Calafant Cardboard Toys- Starting at $8, these high-quality European building and coloring kits are awesome for little imaginations. They come with their own markers and easy-to-follow instructions. It’s unique, fun and inexpensive…what more do you want?

Oopsie Ditty from Bella Tunno- Makes a cool stocking stuffer for a new mom, expecting mom or seasoned mom of a toddler. This “envelope” style case is soft, washable and comes packed with essentials for the busy mom. What really seperates it from other little “envelopes” is the funky metal ring on the side that allows you to sling it just about anywhere.

    Happy Shopping and Happy Holidays!

The Tinkle Tamer - October 15, 2010 by Administrator

    WeeBlock

    Lil' Squirt WeeBlock

When I was pregnant with my son people loved to tell me how different it would be than when I had my oldest daughter. “Oh it’s such a different experience,” they would confide. “First of all, you know…they pee on you. Get ready for that!”

I can’t tell you how many people warned me about this getting “pee’d on” thing. Friends, relatives and strangers alike loved to share tales of pee gone wild. In fact, one of my sister-in-laws went as far as giving me a changing station tutorial. She laid my nephew down, uncovered the Balmex, took out the wipes and ran through the changing with the speed Wiley Coyote, all to get the job done before the little guy sprang a leak. It seemed crazy. “What’s the big deal,” I thought to myself. “How much pee pee can a little boy make.”

A few months later, after my delicious guy was born, I found out the answer to that question. A baby boy can certainly pack a lot of pee pee punch!! My mother was the first to get sprinkled on. Having two girls of her own didn’t properly prepare her for grandson diaper duty. She chuckled and smiled and then let me change the next one. Turns out this tinkling thing wasn’t all hype. Baby boys pee on you. Case closed!!!!

But what everyone didn’t realize is that you can outsmart the situation. “To pee or not to pee…that is the question.” And the Weeblock…that is the answer. The Weeblock ($15) is this tiny, machine-washable gadget that covers up the “pee pee” area so you can wipe without worry. It’s super soft and comes in a variety of colors (I like the yellow one that reads ” Lil Squirt” but thats just my sense of humor I guess).

Aside from keeping one at home and one in the diaper bag these little gizmos make adorable baby shower and new baby gifts. The Weeblock will be a very welcomed preesent, especially after 9 months of hearing, “You know…he’s gonna pee on you.”
