When I was younger (before motherhood, that is) I used to love strolling through the baby section of every department store and boutique I would walk past. It was like my biological clock had a magnetic force toward all things baby. The clothes were soooo cute! The socks were soooo small! The hooded towels were soooo soft! In fact, sometimes I couldn’t resist a purchase, justifying it to myself and husband that it’s a smart idea to have spare baby gifts on-hand.
Fast-forward to my being bloated, cranky, nauseous and happily pregnant a little while later. All the cutesy burp cloths and swaddle blankets suddenly become part of the daunting task of actually preparing for and having a baby. “Where do I start? What do I really need?” And of course, the question of “How can I get people to buy me the really good stuff,” all entered my mind.
And then I discovered the Registry. Here was a way to know what you need, get exactly what you want and do so in an organized manner. It was a “nesting” woman’s dream!! Everyday I would go online, sign in and do my picks while sitting in front of the computer stuffing my face with donut holes.
From posh diaper bags and stroller liners to bibs, burp cloths, wipe cases, socks, pacifier clips and everything in between, Dimples is a Mecca for registering, not only carrying high-quality items but unique ones as well.
You can go beyond the old-fashioned white burp cloths with a set of Cozy Burp Cloths from Baby Dry Goods ($22). Outfit your shoulder in prints ranging from retro paisleys to chic damasks in different colors. Or have your preppy little man stocked up on argyle bibs from Bazzle Baby ($10) or their award-winning Banda Bibs ($12), which look like funky bandanas but actually serve the purpose of drool catching. They have funky organic hooded towels by 3 Sprouts ($38), the must-have Trumpette Socks ($24), and custom baby buntings from Pitter Patternz ($69)…just to name a few of my faves!
Aside from the practical stuff, one of the best parts of the Dimples Registry, in my humble opinion, is being able to get other people to buy you awesome gifts for your baby. A tutu picture frame or personalized minky stroller blanket might not be on my list of essentials, but work perfectly as gifts for others to buy me. I look at it as a favor to the gifter….I’m taking the guess work out of her hands, making shopping that much easier. What is great about their Registry is that once something is purchased it is closed off the list, so no accidental duplicates of the same thing.
Have fun shopping…the big stuff is just about to begin!!!! Don’t forget to check out their Registry Checklist. Also, you can always call or stop in and schedule a personal tour of the store and register in person.
